      no regrets to be had

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

I love my NOVA. I believe it starts out as a better gun than an 870 Express.

However, there are far fewer accessories (last time I looked, which was a while ago) for the NOVA than the 870 or Mossberg 590.

From the BIG5 add. The Benelli seems like a great deal.

Exactly what he said. The receiver is polymer-overmolded steel.

And the best part about that? NO RUST!!! Search the threads about people complaining about rust on an 870!

And the 28" barrel is on sale for $369. I just bought one.

As for accessories, I bought a Limbsaver, Benelli recoil reducer, and a sling. Done.

If you go with an 870 from big 5 I dont think it will even chamber the 3.5 in shells just something to consider when going in there. If you dont ever, ever plan on shooting 3.5s then an 870 would be an ok choice as long as you are willing to put the ammo through it to break it in.
Thats why they make the super mag....

No failure to extract here ever... These failure to extracts on a taken care of gun???

I spent the entire evening researching and viewing all sorts of videos and reviews on the Benelli Nova and Mossberg Persuader, and oh my goodness, there are tons of information out there on youtube about these two SGs. The REM 870 has lots of reviews also.

If quality, make, fit, and finish were the only category, the Benelli Nova wins hands down over the Moss 500 Persuader--though the Moss 500 looks well built like a battleship, 8-shot, the fit, finish, and make leaves a lot to be desired. Price wise, the Moss 500, wins hands down, only due to the existing sale price of $280 this week, otherwise the MSRP is really $370. The Nova at $400 sale, $420 msrp.

So I run some numbers, and the delta was $120. I was asking myself, is this worth forking over to get the Nova? If the 500 was at half the price of the Nova, then no debate here, I will go for the 500, but since the delta is at 30% differential, I pulled the trigger on the Nova. The only bummer here is the 10 day waiting period...I can't believe our great state is requiring these on these weapons...many years back, anyone can buy and take home an AR-15 or AK-47s right of the counter, same day....uuuurrrgggg..
Wow! I have never put that much effort into any purchase ever. No one can fault you for being careless!
