Big 5 Charles Daly Tactical, Nice!

I was pleasantly suprised with one of these once I got over the "it's not an 870 thing".

Really high level of finish and super light weight made me feel like I was holding a Benelli. Ghost ring rear with fiber optic front, all matt black finish, very smooth action and stubid low price, plus a rebate......I pick it up in 10 days!

    Anybody have one of these?

I already have an older 870 wingmaster which is fantastic so please spare the 870 or mossberg thing for another topic!

I was looking at these, but could not make up my mind.
The main reason I didnt want it was because parts for a 870 or 500 are easy to find....plus only 6 round
I know you must have been wanting something different,....but I love my 500A

dont own one. IMO there is a better option out there in the New England Pardner pump. I held both the Charles Daly and the pardner and to me it was an easy choice. Pardner was an 870 without the price tag was out the door at $245. Daly was a bit cheap feeling to me.

Where did you find the NEF for $245?

Aren't these all basically the same Norinco made shotgun? I'd opt for the Interstate 982 version because it comes with the nice ghost ring sights and can be had at Big 5 for just under $200:

I own one and they are decent shotguns. They were made in Turkey and imported for sale by KBI. The shotgun, like I said, is decent. It was a great shotgun until the shell elevator started to malfunction. KBI offers a lifetime repair warranty on their products and I utilized that so it is operational again. Because of the malfunction, it is no longer my home defense option (I don't have to explain why do I?). The Charles Daly now resides in my truck as its dedicated truck gun. Good gun for the price, but I will not but a CD again. I now have a Mossburg 500 for the house, Big 5 grab as well.

I have a Charles Daly Tactical, it is a good shotgun and their lifetime warranty is great. The Charles Daly resides in my truck as a dedicated truck/shtf gun also.

I started out with a CD tactcal, but it would not reliably feed shells. It would release two shells from the tube at once, thereby jamming it up. I'm sure they would have fixed it, but since it was brand new, I traded it for an 870 + cash at my gunshop.

A lack of confidence in your HD gun is never a good thing. My 870 is flawless.

Not to be mean but I agree, you should trust your HD shotty. You can't really tell the people breaking into your home to come back after you get it repaired. My mossberg 500A was made before I was born, and still top-noch.
If I ever bought another HD shotgun it would be another 500,590 or a 870
                        just my two cents.

It's the SP Home Defense $269. Ghost ring rear receiver sight, red fiber optic front sight and removeable choke tube. Super light weight and the finish is far better than on the 870 or Mossberg. The base model on sale with a rebate is $239.

There's not much info on the web just yet other than a lot of people posting to get a more tested design such as the 870 or mossberg but I'm not worried about it. Charles Daly has a lifetime warranty to back their products. My first 1911 was a CD and I never once had a jamb or failure of any kind. It was cheap compared to the other brands but it was beautiful and ran 100%...what more could you ask for?

I pick it up in 10 days and after I get some rounds thru it I will post a review.

Don't get my wrong, the 1911's and the AR line they came out with seem to be top notch, it's just for every reason posted thus far that I won't get a CD shotgun for HD again. Click is the loudest sound in the world, if you're expecting a bang.

                              I can understand that.

I had a mossberg for many years and then it started jaming. I guess it wore out and I'm sure it could have been fixed but I just stopped trusting it after that and now I won't touch a mossberg shotgun for anything.

The newer 870's have their own problems and I wouldn't trust a new one like I do my vintage Wingmaster.

Let's see how my CD Tactical works out on the range and I'll have some feedback for you guys. Won't be for 2 weekends though!
