You'll be happy with the SGA stock. You need an LOP where your arms would make a 90 degree angle if the stock was in the crook of your elbow and you were holding the shotgun one handed. This gives you more leverage to work the pump. The majority of shooters need a longer LOP than regular offerings.

Actually most people need a shorter LOP and the part you missed was the "Longer than a SGA Stock with "NO" Spacers," part of the sentence.
The SGA stock with no spacers in it is 12.5" LOP. I have 1 spacer in all of mine for a 13" LOP. All my Field Guns have a 13 3/4" LOP and my Skeet and Trap guns all are 13 3/4 - 14" LOP.
The reason for the shorter LOP for Tactical Guns is that it allows you to "square up" to the target more and makes it easier to control Recoil, which will be trying it's best to throw you off target by pushing you over backwards.
A Squared Stance with your weight forward also allows lateral movement to cope with multiple targets in both left and right directions.
Hope this helps with understanding the set up?

Seems OP's bigger complaint is trigger reach. I'm not sure any of these aftermarket stocks reduce trigger reach.
LOP adjustment is a bandsaw away. Blue tape and a belt sander to re-blend the (or new) recoil pad.Palestine is a fake country

No. Shorter LOP makes for less leverage on the pump of the gun, which is why I have *personally* seen guys run an SBS worse than a standard length. Nothing prevents someone from having a proper stance with a proper LOP. This is also why I added the caveat to my original post that proper LOP can measured using the stock in the inside elbow to the trigger.sigpic

Dr Vinkman : You need to read this thread which is an extensive decertation on setting up a Mossberg or Remington Tactical Shotgun. Backed up by 7 2 and 4 Day Shotgun Classes at Front Sight and 5+ years of 3 gun shoots.No. Shorter LOP makes for less leverage on the pump of the gun, which is why I have *personally* seen guys run an SBS worse than a standard length. As far as your assertion that it "Reduces the Leverage on the Pump? I have no idea what you are talking about? I can hit 3 targets in <2.1 seconds every single time and 4 in 2.7 seconds some times and in 3 seconds every time. I think there is enough leverage on my Pump to run the gun efficiently?
You are saying that having a longer LOP is "proper" and yet virtually every Tactical Shotgun Class teaches the exact opposite.
Also most common shotguns come from the factory at about 13 3/4" LOP and with the Flatter Angle of your Hand on the Wrist of the stock that is fine, However the Magpul SGA stock has a more Vertical Grip which favors the shorter LOP due to the more vertical position of your wrist when gripping the gun. Tilt your hand forward like you would grip a Field Stock, then simply rotate it backwards and you can see the distance between the Heel of your hand and your elbow shorten, hence the need for a shorter LOP.
The current method of Teaching Tactical Shotgun dictates that the proper stance is not a bladed one like used with Rifles or Field shooting of shotguns, but a stance where you are squared up to the target with your feet nearly perpendicular to the direction of the gun. This stance helps to absorb recoil and allows the greatest amount of lateral movement with out moving the feet. Which results in faster Transitions to subsequent targets.

No, I don't. You have an awful habit of thinking you're the only learned one in the room. Go take a class from the likes of Steve Fisher or Rob Haught.Dr Vinkman : You need to read this thread which is an extensive decertation on setting up a Mossberg or Remington Tactical Shotgun.
