    Fastest method for reloading?

Noob to 3-Gun seeking the best option for reloading the shotgun quickly, seems to be key is doing well. Looked at a lot of videos but this one peaks my interest. Opinions?

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

Looks interesting. Jerry makes everything look easy, but I wonder how it would work without Jerry's personal mods. He's so right about good reloading is as important as the shooting.

Here's another guy sporting the Arredondo loading chute on YouTube.
His looks like the stock unit works pretty smooth and fast. His pusher looks different than Jerry's though.

How about you learn how to Port Load the gun first?

        Go here https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1799123

and look at post #28 It gives a quick rundown on how to do it.

Nobody is going to use a Speed Loader like Jerry's on and HD gun.

When you finally get the technique down you should be able to fire one shot every 1-2 seconds for as long as you have ammo .

While I agree that getting the port loading technique down, I believe the OP's intent for the shotgun is it to be a dedicated 3 gun competition rig not a HD rig.

As I recall, his daughter came close to out reloading him using standard techniques in a 100 round speed match.

Video is in the next post.

Video: Jerry M and his daughter in a 100 round speed match. Jerry tube loads and his daughter hand loads. Of course there is some bias because she is just reloading and not shooting, but she shows conventional loading from belt shell holders is viable. Note Jerry fumbling with his tube loaders.

Aren't the speed loaders only allowed in certain divisions? I didn't think speed-loader shooters, and hand-loader shooters, compete against each other. So depends what division you want to shoot in.
Most competitors that hand-load, have gone to the load-2 or load-4 technique. Both work. My hands are too small for 4, so load-2 works well enough for me.

I think you're right, I believe IDPA 3 Gun doesn't allow "speed loaders".

In my view, yes. You can still port load, but then you have load one at a time from the bottom. The chute is in the way if you want to quad load or even load two.

From what I’ve seen lately, 3-gun has moved away from large round count shotgun stages, with most of them hovering around 12 rounds per stage. So, 1 quad load and you’re done.

I think this is the right move considering 3gun has been on the decline for a bit.

I think that's great that the West Coast is still able to host big matches.

When I was still living on the East Coast/NE a few years back, 3-gun really started dying out a few years ago and accelerated once the FNH match died out.
