I can't answer that question, but I can tell you they will work in the Winchester Defender 1300 without modifications. I have a Defender on bedside duty and another 1300 I am going to cut down if I ever get around to it. Aside from minishell capability, they have the slickest action of any pump I've seen.

Not sure how OP gets a Shockwave in California unless he means the 18 inch version. If that is what you have in mind, get a Defender and put a bird's head grip on it. I would much rather go with a design that's been proven over 60+ years than a brand new bullpup that is already reporting problems.

Yup and the best part is that you get to trim the donor shell leaving a nice fresh edge to make that perfect roll crimp.

I had just gotten into casting all the different slugs and testing my own short shells when I decided to pack up and move. I did enough work to say that it's not that hard to get decent results.

Shotshells are the cheapest as easiest munition to reload for me. I use a sizing ring, primer punch, primer pocket resizing punch, and do the roll crimp on a drill press. I use my scale & powder measure from my metallic cartridge loading

I lack the roll crimp tool. They are available on Ebay, but those come from Russia and there is about a month delay. Given the current situation it may be years before they arrive, if ever. I might be able to make my own, but that's a whole new project.

Just order one from an American company, it doesn't have to be Russian.

FWIW, the latest Turners flyer has the Aguila and Federal Minis on "special" (still outrageously expensive) but they did have both the slugs and the buck in many of their stores. I've read a review or two from gun writers who are much more knowledgable than I am about shotgun ballistics and they are of the thought that the Minis have the perfect ballistics for in-home, short range HD, fast enough to take down bad guys but slower than 2.75" or 3" shells obviously. Everyone seems to like that higher capacity too for HD!

Unfortunately my 1301 won't work with them, the only guns I have that would are single shot and O/U trap guns, not very practical for HD.

But what if it's the wife who has to shoot. I need to consider that as well. We're both in our 70's.

She's a youngster! But in five years the warranty on her body parts will expire. True story. Give her lots of love before it happens.
