OP should have sense to post what the box of shotshells says on it. 3/1/8
that means 3 drams of powder with one ounce of number 8 shot. Without close up off target could be #7 1/2 , #8, number 6 shot size

If your really asking that question on this forum then you really need to educate yourself more before you go shooting.

You're right. It makes more sense to spend hours Googling instead of going to a gun forum and seeking out members who've been shooting for decades.

Sometimes you Fudds are absolutely insufferable. And you wonder why young people don't enter the sport.

Well, to be honest, it took me less than 2 minutes to find and post the image of the different shot sizes.

Hours on google would be for a much more in-depth study on the subject than the question required.

My life is right!! And I have been shooting since I was a kid, But looks like op has been shooting already according to the pics, So do you shoot first and ask questions later? When maybe it's to late? And I have no problems helping anyone out have done it many times. And who are you to judge me?

Sorry guys i admit it was a moronic question.
I was really overthinking it. I was watching a Clint smith video with him saying a typical shotgun spread should be an inch per yard. I was just expecting a Bigger hole than what I got for10 yards.
FYI: that was also my first time shooting a shotgun. Im pretty much self taught got my first firearm back in 2017.
First time handling a gun was back in 2002 in the Army and qualified a sharpshooter.

Saw some people in the range before with shotguns and often times their targets are torn to pieces with less rounds fired.

Thanks sir. I spend most of my time using laser cartridge training in all of my 3 guns, lol. I could barely afford going to the range. I am lucky if I can go 2x per year. Dry fire training is what I do now.
Now I just do reloading drills if I have time. I learn a lot from you guys.
When I was in basic our Drill Sgts complemented me as a natural shooter/marksman too bad after that I never touched a firearm again. Now im 43 y/old I still hope someday i can compete even placing last I just want to experience it.

What type of competition do want to compete in?

If you get down to the LA area, hit me up and we can shoot some clays.
