    Where did Mossberg go?

Aside from a few of less popular models that sit on the shelf forever, I don't see Mossbergs for sale on my major outlets that I check.

For example Sportsman's Warehouse is listing 8 in stock of the 180 Mossberg models they carry. Same situation at other vendors. A few Maverick 88s and turkey models.

    Are they reorganizing or something?

I gave away a couple to some family members and sold a few more to friends this last summer due to them not being able to find any in stock anywhere.

I have a unfired 500 in .410 and an unfired 590A1 USSM that I'm thinking of selling. That will leave me with 5 others. I went on a 500 and 590 buying binge a few years ago for some dang reason.

More likely is they sell out fast. Last gun show I went to I saw a bunch of the new Shockwaves that take the short shells. That just came out a month or two ago.

Everything firearm related is in short supply, why would Mossberg be any different?

I wasn't aware of that, rest in peace.
There's no way to really know how much he was steering the company in recent years. I'd love to see them upgrade their over under line and move production to the U.S. to start competing directly with Browning and the Italians.
They also need to fix some problems, like the trashy lever gun.

Really no other firearm company in the world is poised for expansion and upgrade like Mossberg.

Bought two 20 gauge 500's, to hunt with my son right as the pandemic started, before poeple freaked out. Both were on clearance for $265 apiece at Big 5. Haven't seen a 500 in store since that day.

I did just buy a Maverick 88 from Sportsmans that I get to pickup Tuesday. Needed a beater to use in the duck blind. Tired of abusing my Browning. I was happy to find it as Remington has been so unreliable the last few years and haven't seen any 500s in the wild since pre-pandemic. The 88 should fit my needs nicely and I don't have to feel bad for using it hard.

Really do wish we would start to see the 500's again locally soon. Big 5 always used to have a few and their sale prices were great. Don't think we will though anytime soon though.

I've been wondering the same thing. Admittedly this is only anecdotal evidence, but I've been noticing the supply from other manufacturers catching up - I picked up two Henry pistol caliber rifles in the last few months, and I was able to get my hands on a Colt Python, too. When I visited the gun stores for those purchases, Glocks and Springfields seemed to be readily available, along with some lesser-known shotgun brands. Conspicuously absent were Mossberg shotguns, which, pre-pandemic, were reliably available across a wide range of retailers from Wal-Mart, to the nationwide sporting goods stores, to the mom & pop local shops. I'm not in a desperate need for another pump shotgun, so I'm not ready to try these lesser known brands like Citadel, American Tactical, or even the bigger brands like Stevens or Stoeger.

Gavin Newsom is a lying, cheating slickster and will be is the worst mistake California has ever made if he gets now that he has been elected Governor. Hollywood movie producers look to him and his oleaginous persona as a model for the corrupt "bad guy" politician character. This guy is so greasy, he could lubricate an entire arsenal of AR-15s just by breathing on them.

I have not seen a NICS report for Black Friday

Statistics represent the number of firearms background checks initiated through the NICS from November 1998 to December 31, 2025.
