    I would say, maybe.
First of all, I trust my Maverick(Mossberg) and there are lots of reasons why. If I wanted to trust a KS7 (which is really a cool *** gun, handled but never shot one) I would use as a secondary and run it thoroughly until I knew how it functioned and it made more sense to me than the traditional platform. Given that I grew up on pumps for dove and clay pigeons, I don’t know where I would find an appropriate niche for the little bullpup, but it could be worth it for you. As it is, my Maverick runs that OpSol plug for mini shells just fine.

Oh, and my 88 Security was $189… if that ain’t value!

This ^^^^ I guess if your home was a tent on a sidewalk it would be ok.
Bottom line don't go cheap/unreliable unless you also discount the value of your life and property.

I would trust any of my 3 M500's or Browning A5. My last one that I built has been to a 3 gun shoot but still needs a run thru a Front Sight 2 or 4 day class, which would loosen it up some more and prove it out adn find any Hotspots I missed. The other 2 M500's have done that several times as has the A5.

This is about more than the gun. The fool behind the trigger has to be competent as well, or the gun matters Not!

I have seen several KSG's in the classes I attended. They ran fine once the guy got the "Racking" down pat. But after being racked about 400 times the guns all ran really nice and were smooth to operate. They just needed breaking in... This is true of most guns as well as their owners.

My SU16 CA has been thru 3-4 Rifle Classes and has performed perfectly. It is light weight and easy to handle and runs great with P Mags. The breakages I have seen and heard of, were all in the same place and that has now been corrected. My Bro IN Law just sent his in for that fix, got it back a week later.

Ragging on KT guns is pointless, if you don't like them, don't buy them! Simple as that!

For a HD I'd just buy a pump action (ie: mossberg or a Remington 870)

Not sure why people are commenting about the KSG. OP clearly asked about the KS7

Op, I’m in your camp as well. But am holding off until prices come back down. The KS7 was $500-550 pre-plandemic. My LGS has them for $750 now, not worth taking a chance on it for that price.

To make your KS7 a true HD weapon be sure to put a 1000 lumen SureFire weapons light on it, that way when it jams you'll be able to find your way in the dark to something else not made by Keltec.

It's difficult to believe you're asking those questions about anything KelTec.

I think the easier answer is if you want to see if it'll run, buy it and put a couple hundred shells of buckshot through it; if it can go through 250-500 shells without any fuss then that should answer whether or not you'd trust your life to it or not.

Your shoulder might not appreciate it, but it'll give you peace of mind on whether it works or not.

From my limited experience I've heard of far fewer problems with the KS7's compared to the KSG's, which I can partially attribute to it working more conventionally with one tube instead of swapping between two shell tubes, along with a narrower pump being a bit easier to rack compared to wrapping your hand around a KSG pump or resorting to mounting a foregrip to get the KSG to rack consistently.

Anything Keltec is a hard no for me. Their KSG was maybe the most uncomfortable firearm I've ever used.
