The KSG wasn't bad for me. The KS7 sucked.
The Shockwave is much less accurate and less useful due to no stock. -
KSG.
I tried a friend's KelTec KSG and didn't like the loading of it. When loading more rounds into it, the edges just seemed too sharp.
I don't remember getting slapped in the face particularly, but with any shotgun, if my face isn't all-but-glued to the stock when I pull the trigger, it'd be liable to bruise my face.
Shockwave.
I tried the Mossberg Shockwave, but ended up buying the similar Remington Tac-14 (14" barrel), not knowing the entire Remington company was going to go under, so-to-speak.
My Tac-14 came with one of those SBTactical pistol braces with a Mesa Tactical adapter. Not liking either a bird's head pistol grip or the pistol-brace setup, I ended up converting the Tac-14 to an "sbs" (short barreled shotgun) which isn't an option in California.
My favorite California-legal shotgun is a Mossberg 590A1 with ghost ring sights with the shortest legal barrel length of 18" (actual length 18.5" I believe).

The Mossberg 590A1 is the most durable of our pump action shotguns, meeting MIL-SPEC 3443G, with its heavy-walled barrel, metal trigger guard and safety, clean out mag tube, and Parkerized finish. Its hearty construction and proven endurance make it a prime choice for home defense applications.
You could always put a bird's head or pistol-grip onto the, above, model if you'd like, but I prefer a good full straight stock.Last edited by L-2; 10-08-2021, 5:14 PM.(former) Glock and 1911 Armorer; LEO (now retired)Comment

I tried the new Smith & Wesson M&P12 at my LGS, and I liked it.
It looked better in person, and so far the reviews showed that it functioned pretty well. The front/rear vertical grip design was supposed to help the recoil management.
If your LGS has a M&P 12 in stock, check it out.Comment

What you are experiencing is bad shotgun fit. Bad fit can be caused by a bad mount, crappy gun ergonomics , bad design, wrong stock, balance, weight........
A lot of shotguns and aftermarket stocks look cool but have a tendency to kick the snot out of youComment

I have a KSG. The M&P 12 felt heavier, yet it was balance. The front vertical grip also helped to control the weight. I shouldered and handled the M&P 12 at the LGS, and it felt nice. I think I'm getting one.Originally posted by ksg00wow the M&P12 looks so cool, it just I'm short and that shotgun is heavy, heavier than the KSG.
anyhoo has anyone here use 3 inch shells in their shotgun before? I heard the lighter the gun the 3 inch shells will give you a brutal recoil.
but then who the heck would shoot 3 inch shells magnum, unless they be like hunting and dealing with bear?
I've shot many 3 inch shells (long story) and yes they kicked hard. For the love of my shoulder, the 2-3/4" shells would do for me.
