What's your take on a VARIETY of different rounds for SD? SLUG/00/000/2/3/4/6? Or are you a single round type?

Mine is loaded with (in reverse order), SLUG; 00; 000; 2; 4 & 6.

I have plenty of slugs for use at the range but for HD, its all 00 buckshots. The only variety is between 2.75" or the 3" magnum with more pellets.

#4 Buck or 00

#4 buck. Not a fan of staggering rounds. In a gun fight, you will lose track of what load is up next. If you shoot it like a slug, and it was buck, you may not get your desired result. If you know the tube is all slugs, they will perform as expected.

Reverse order or not, you job is to stop the actor asap...that works better with 00 or 000 than #6.

00 buck, flight control. Too much crap to deal with in pressure situations. KISS.

I’ll break the mold and admit I favor heavy bird shot. At the 5 to 10-yard range I’d be firing in my house I’m less concerned what I’m shooting with than where it goes after. 1-1/4 #6 moving at 1500 is gonna make a dent and won’t go much wider than a fist.

I use 00 buck. I used to use #4 when I lived in my townhouse

#4 or bigger and why mix it up?
I get maybe a slug in there but I dont see the rationale in going from small to larger shot.
If ever have to use it you want the job to be done not half assed. Last thing I want is to have wished I had to shoot him one extra time.....

Remember that the bad guy might be shooting back so if you can put him down with the first hit, it won't give him the chance to say "F'ck it" and go rock and roll with his gun, spraying lead everywhere. He might get lucky and hit you, your family or your neighbor.
