I have a Chinese 93/97 and two Winchester 97 TDs with 30" barrels, I don't think I could bring myself to cut down either one. Might be more expensive, but I think I would just buy a riot barrel and parts from Numrich if I wanted one to have shorter barrel.

The Chinese shotguns really are good shotguns, just as good if not better than originals.

I do not trust metallurgy from the WW1 era, even through the 1920's. You get to WW2, it should be good, but nothing is a given.

Modern alloy steels, far less residuals, yield strength at least 20% better than vintage plain carbon steels, and today's process controls are much better. As long as the maker keeps the steel clean and follows his processes, new replica guns with survive boo-boos that destroy a vintage firearm.

Your money, you can decide. But if you pay with a postal money order and mail it USPS and the seller flakes, you can sic the feds on him. They take mail fraud pretty seriously, and it might give you more leverage with the seller than a credit card company would.

I don't get the reluctance to mail the payment. I am not Commiefornia phobic, but when I sell a gun via an internet sale, I always insist on Postal Money Orders. And I might add I won't ship until they clear my bank. Paypal forbids you to use them for purchasing firearms and unless you have the ability to take credit cards, there is no other real way to accept payment.

I'm with you, USPSmail, USPS Money Order. Mail fraud is a serious Felony, and they have their own Inspectors/Investigators. In a friendly and informative way, I also always tell the seller why I use a Money Order too. I think it helps all parties, all the way around

Those shotguns are completely legal. I have a Stevens 320 That is Chinese made. It seems to be pretty good. I've never had any issue with it. The Chinese seem to make pretty decent shotguns. Norinco however had military contracts for many years. I think they're probably even better than the Stevens.

I had a 320 for years was one of my first shotguns. Finally got rid of it after getting Into semi autos.

Do you lose the take-down feature with the trench gun configuration?
