    How's H&K Benelli M1?

Is it just the same as Benelli M1 Super 90?

What's the difference between M1 and M2, M3(i know M3 is dual, SA and pump) and M4?

Are there serious problems with M1 that are now fixed in M2 and above?

Is M1 a good choice for 3-guns? Or is M2+ are favorable?

    Thanks.....

There's nothing wrong with the HK Benelli it's a great gun. If the price is right buy it. If you don't want it let me know and I'll buy it, if the price is right.

The tactical models aren't as good for 3 gun as the field models. The difference between the m1 and m2 is the new model stock, cryo treated barrel and chokes, longer chokes, different forearm, different trigger group. The m1 has alloy trigger guard the m2 has plastic.

    I'm using a 10 year old M1 for 3 gun I have a new m2 in the safe but I'm happy with my m1.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

        esskay: Make sense....

I was only considering this cuz it was offered as a trade.... whenever I go 3gunning, i just stick with my good old 870!!

As strange as it may sound, generally the goal for me for IPSC and 3gun is not to win against others.... it is more like racing against my own self... and to get good and acquire the muscle memories for the firearms I own/like...

My IPSC pistol is my G19.... probably not the best, more like one of the worst, glock for this task.... yet, thru my IPSC/IDPA years, i learnt to shoot that gun very well, and when it is in my hand, it feels like a natural extension of it....

So, to a certain extend, i may not mind using something less "game-tuned" by something that i would actually like/use in other situation...

Yet, your recommendation is well received, and i will seriously consider those points....

I had a feeling there was a reason that you were trying to find (or shoehorn) a purpose for that M1...

Your perspective is not strange at all! I get it. It is very hard -- certainly for folks who are competitive (who me? ) -- to not want to post as good a score as possible... But as you say there are other objectives that one can achieve from shooting matches. I shot a 3-gun match just 3 days after our Magpul class. I was so amped from the class that I ran my "fighting" upper rather than my 3-gun upper and was doing stuff just to practice techniques -- transitioning to my support side when it wasn't called for in the course of fire, putting twice as many hits on the targets as needed, etc. My squad mates would have been pissed with all the extra taping if it weren't so entertaining to watch! That plus the lack of magnified optics sure did blow my times though...

My defensive pistol is also a G19. So from time to time I'll run it in matches too.

The issue with shotgun though, is that it is one of those disciplines where there is a pretty big gap between a game gun and a fighting gun. Rifle - well, you could fight with an AR with a T-1 and 3x (or a 1-4x) and also shoot matches with it. Handgun - an STI might be a purely game gun, but run a Glock and you're good on both sides. But shotgun... pretty big gap between a competitive game gun and what you'd spec out for a defensive shotgun...

Good for you Jicko on your reasons for using the tools you use. Just remember you can develop some serious bad habbits for self defense shooting I Practice Suicide Constantly.

            Good luck.
