@skyhawk: I managed to take the whole thing apart, just got stuck at removing the bolt handle and locking head piece, does anyone have that Benelli Manual? I bought this from someone on CG, and didnt get the manual.

What does your bolt release button look like





Also I am pretty sure that Taran tunes and polishes the carrier latch, so you might rethink changing it out.

That is not mine, just a pic I found online. I do run that button though and the Taran extended shell carrier but have not opened up my port.

The problem is that as of right now, with high brass, 1250fps 1oz rounds, it still doesn't recycle, the guy that sold it to me said it needs 1600fps+ rounds to recycle. If not any of the parts, I'm thinking maybe the spring needs to be replaced?

So yeah, your factory carrier latch button is drilled and tapped. If you install a new factory latch, it is not going to be drilled and tapped to accept that oversize button. And if anyone does try to drill and tap it, they must secure the button from turning when tapping it. If they just secure the latch the button will probably break loose when tapping and then it will be jacked and unusable (unless you know a skilled welder).

If your current carrier latch retains rounds in the mag tube, and releases them from the mag tube when you press the shell release (next to the trigger), then the carrier latch is probably fine and the spring may be too heavy.

1250 FPS 1 oz. loads are not "High Brass" loads. You need an education on what loads will cycle in your gun. It is an "inertia" gun and needs a certain load to function. It's not going to "CYCLE" with lighter weight / target velocity loads. No, it doesn't need 1600 FPS loads to work. It will work with heavier payload loads.

You need to learn about what you bought and how it works and it's intended use.

If you want a shotgun to use target loads, buy a target gun or at least a gas gun.

In the buttstock there is an extension tube. The recoil spring.

But who knows with OP gun since it is second hand. Usually they don't have to be messed with from the factory but for some of the reeeeaaallly light loads that the 3-gunners use, they are usually changed out.

The min recommended load for a stock m2 is 3dram, 1 1/8 oz. the velocity range for that load is between 1110 fps and 1290 fps and average 1200 fps.

It shouldn't take 1600fps+ loads to cycle, and the load you are using should cycle fine (my M2 cycles 1200fps 1oz loads)

Have you tried cleaning out the recoil tube? And when you put the bolt back in, consider using a bit of grease on the rails and around the link pin.
