    Siaga 12 Legality Question

According to the shotgun laws, the Saiga 12 (coverted to non-detachable mags, with pistol grip) should be legal with no buttstock?

    (6) A semiautomatic shotgun that has both of the following: (A) A folding or telescoping stock. (B) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon, thumbhole stock, or vertical handgrip.

It's illegal to have a folding or telescoping, but how about remove the buttstock completely? How long does a shotgun have to be (overall length) to be legal in CA?

I asked this question alot, becus i wanted to go with a pistol grip Saiga and its seems that it is Legal. As long as it doesnt have a folding or collapsable stock so your good to go and i already measured one and I am sure it was over 26" overall length with a 19" barrel. I am going with this configuration until i figure out what kind of stock i want. Of course you gotta have fixed mag. If you find out otherwise, please let me know. thanks.

The shotgun must be more than 26" in lengths and have a barrel at least 18" in lengths. 12020 PC

See this website for more info

Rember that these rules apply for most domestic shotguns, but foreign ones like the Saiga also fall into 18 USC 9 22(r).

If you decide to modify a Saiga in most cases you will need to abide by 922r.

What is the magazine round limit on a converted shotgun? Is there one?

              10 round magazines.

Hard to explain how you own a Saiga-12 20 round drum, since they just started showing up last year.

there is no limit on shotgun magazine capacity.

if you are a LEO or can buy a magazine from an armored car company (or arguably a licensed FFL) you can run a 20 round drum so long as it is not detachable.

This flow chart is accurate as far as I can tell:

I'm not sure about removing a stock to make a cruiser. That might be illegal.
