My arms aren't super short but I don't have gorilla arms either. I run a youth Speedfeed stock on my 870, it's great. I also run AR stocks at one click back. Prefer shorter LOP.

I would think that alot of people would switch to a short LOP if they tried one.

If they changed the name from "youth" model to "Tactical Entry Stock" model and painted it black it would sell like hotcakes

I have found the smaller 20 gauge models feel better to me.

I got one so my gf has better control over my 870 when she uses it. Surprisingly, the shorter LOP works well for me too.

LOL, you're absolutely right. The only reason I haven't thought about it till now is because of the name.

Hogue has what they are calling their ShortShot 12" lop stocks. Trying to get away from the Youth term I guess. Anyway thats what I have on my Moss500 and it is way better than the Spec-Ops I had.

yes. i changed out both my 500 & 590 to youth or bantam stocks and it rocks. i took a shotgun class and the instructor told us that all shotgun stocks are too long and we would be better served with the you or bantam stocks. it is true.

Thanks for the pictue with the ruler. I have a miter box and a spare wood stock for my Mossberg. I may have to give a shorter stock a try.

I have short arms and have always had to saw off a bunch of tree from the backend of my shotguns. The Hogue stock is extremely well made, has a great recoil pad, and earns the distinction of being even (almost) too short for me. I heartily recommend it.

You might also look at Choates synthetic stock. there is one version that can be adjusted in length of pull through use of spacers. I have two of those also and they are great, as are all Choate products.

Same here, i dont have extremely short arms, but i really like the shorter LOP.
I started a thread earlier this week, asking who can shorten synthetic stocks for that same reason. Ar15barrel will do it! How short is that Hogue stock compared to the spec ops stocks that is fully collapsed.

I think the lop on the specops at it's shortest is 11.5"

I purchased the Remington 870 20ga youth for my wife. She does not care for it but it is now my favorite do all shotgun. I think the shorter LOP makes it far more handy. I agree with Kermit call it something "catchier" and they would sell them by the truckload.
