I tried to shoot the style at MnM Big Bonanza today. So my observations confirm that shooting this way is tough.
1) 1oz. as opposed to 1-1/8oz lost me some breaks.
2) Low gun as opposed to mounted lost me some breaks.
3) Not moving on the target until I see the bird is ridiculously hard especially when I know where they come from and so I fumbled enough to lose some breaks.
Even then I still managed to achieve greater than 50% success. I could do this.Alfred E. Neuman 2024

I was watching you and you did very well with ONE exception. YOU HAVE TO SEE THE BIRD BEFORE MOUNTING. For instance on station one it looked like you mounted right after you said "pull", but before any of us could see the birds. Food for thought. If on a FITASC event they will 'dock' you a bird supposedly if you mount before actually seeing the bird.I tried to shoot the style at MnM Big Bonanza today. Ok, I done did it, I just registered for the FITASC at the state shoot.
Not expecting much other than some fun...
Now a question, can I shoot reloads, or do I need factory shells?"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"Comment

When I went yesterday, the guy was looking over the shells and it wasn't just to see the stamping. He was really looking to the point that IMO he was checking if they were reloads or not. FYI.Comment

You are right. It is tough not to mount. I felt herky-jerky thinking about it.I was watching you and you did very well with ONE exception. YOU HAVE TO SEE THE BIRD BEFORE MOUNTING.
