    eddy 600,

I'd suggest to have her sign up SoCal Shotgun clinics as Coach Don and his instructors can check gun-fit. Triple B Clays rents semi-auto for $25/day and she can change guns as much as she likes. Bob Day did stock job for my Remington Sportsman 58 and CZ Drake, and I highly recommend him.

I'd also look for Rem-1100 Youth models. The 1100 is a soft shooter.

20 gauge or .410. Pick up a good used bolt shotgun for teaching purposes. Load it like a single shot till they get the hang of it, or the same with a pump/semi The gun shop I used to work in had them quite frequently for less than 150. They were not highly sought after by shotgunners so you should still be able to get a decent price on one. Ease of cleaning a bolt shotgun is a plus, especially when teaching all the basics

Friend had both of his kids learn to shoot with this gun. He found it new and on sale for around $450 - $500.

+3 on the SA08. Friend bought his grandaughter one[20ga] when she was 12. Still shoots just fine and she's about to turn 19. Good gun.

I mentioned a couple shotguns that might work, but HAMAJUN is spot on...

Go to a clinic or a range that rents and have her try a few different shotguns. What is important is that it fits her.

She liked the one the other young lady was using but i couldn't find one,so we went with a mossberg 20 gage youth bantam model it's gas operated & has a wood stock that can be cut to fit,it's the one Hamajun highlighted in his post.I need a refreshing of my skeet shooting skills so i hope to sign up for a few more classes with the guys at triple Bs.

Congrats!! Hope she likes the Mossberg SA-20 Youth Bantam.

I'm also shopping a 20ga shotgun for skeet. I'm a short guy (5' 5") and had Bob Day shorten my shotgun's stock to 13.5" LOP and installed Kick-EEZ on CZ Drake and Pachmayr Decelerator on Remington 58. It's a night and day difference.

Congrats on the new gun! It should work well for her.
I believe that the Mossy SA 20 is basically the same as the Weatherby SA-08, with the difference being wood & blue vs black plastic. Both have a lot of good reviews.

Not sure of your budget but if you're looking for a semi auto, Benelli m2 has a youth model.

Not sure exactly where you're located but, if she wants to try a youth model 870, she's welcome to come to my place and try mine. I have ammo and clays so, she only needs her eyes and ears (I have plenty of loaners if she doesn't have any).
