Accidentally loading 20 ga. shells into 12 ga. guns.

What's the strategy YOU use to prevent this?

    You might own:

    1. a 12 ga. for ducks and/or a police pump for home defense
    2. a 20 ga. for doves

    I definitely wouldn't carry both a 12 and a 20 on the same hunt:

I would only carry a 20 ga. gun on dove, pheasant and grouse hunts and only a 12 ga. on duck hunts.

If your that lame or accident prone stay home. I carry both in vehicle. Never had an issue. I hunt doves and ducks in same day. Sometimes quail as well..

It can certainly happen, but believe the color coding of shells helps greatly to avoid mistakes.

I you think you'll have issues, the you likely need to sell one of them with all ammunition IMHO.

I believe that was a voluntary action by mfrs, most modern 20GA is yellow. I still have a ton of multi colored 20GA.

What does an A300 have to do with a 20g?

Look at a 20g and 12g shell. There is a big difference between the two. In nearly 50 years of shooting shotguns of different gauge, I've never had that problem. Know the difference.

C'mon! This type of logic is a bannable offense.

It's still pretty important to know the difference between the clubs.

I don't worry about it because neither one fits in my flintlock.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.
