Oh ya, and if you don't already have a heat gun, do yourself a favor and head to Harbor Freight to get one. You'll need it when you take the OEM tube off.

I have one from my previous wannabe gunsmithing adventures. I just realized I'm also waiting on the +1 tube from Nordic. I have the cap and adapter threaded thing, just waiting on the tube.

Shotgun has been picked up. I tore the gun down last night and started cleaning it up. It came knowing the previous owner used it well, so the springs are all getting changed, and a thorough cleaning was in order. The Scalarworks mount, GG&G bolt release, and buffer spring were installed. I plan to tear town the trigger group tonight and swap the factory parts over to the A&S trigger guard, install the TTI springs, safety, and lifter.

I got the Limbsaver pad drilled out for the buffer tube, and need to get the mounting screws for it, which will be tonight. I also need to pin the button for the stock. Prayers for a clean and easy hole drilling!

It seems Nordic Components is doing a company-wide halt on shipping, so those parts and Carrier Comp are the only set backs. I also ordered some choke tubes, I hate having to pull them out of one gun for another. Man, this thing is gonna be fun to shoot.

You should name your AOW Sneaky Pete, it seems to be in every other picture you post. Not that I'm complaining, because it's awesome, but it's photobombing everything hahahaha

I agree, that Surefire rail was awesome. I wish Strike Industries model was held in with more than just set screws, it looks like a comfy alternative.

Update.

OMGWTF is wrong with me. So, I tried to follow cockedandglocked's instructions on how to pin the c-stock. I pondered how to approach this over a few beers, and thought to myself "I'm just gonna clamp it in the vise and drill the damn hole." Big mistake. Apparently, I was off-center while drilling the hole. Then, while tapping, I found out that not only was the hole off-center, but it was somehow not straight, either. How did this become apparent? The tap broke off.

Long story short, the button is with a friend at his machine shop. I paid him in BBQ beef ribs, a bottle of bourbon, and beer to remedy the problem. His solution is to just re-make the button with the hole drilled. I should have the part back in the next couple of days.

No worries with him. We do stuff for each other all the time. He never brings stuff like this up, other than to ask if it's still working. He makes me stuff randomly, I help him source stuff when needed. We have been friends for over 15 years, so I'm not worried.

There are "friends" like what you've described, choose them wisely.

When I did it, I broke the #4-40 tap off, and took it to a local machine shop that my employer uses from time to time. I don't know how they did it, but they extracted the broken tap and re-drilled and tapped the hole a size larger, as a #6-32. Charged me $100 for it.

I looked everywhere online for a replacement button, but it appears Benelli does not sell them - only the complete stock kit.

If your friend makes a few of those buttons, I bet he could sell them to people.

Yeah, my google-fu showed the same, so that's why he just made a new one instead. Apparently 6-32 is a machinist's nightmare. The original button was work hardened when they removed the first broken tap, and that's what caused the second tap to break off in it. Stupid CA.

UPDATE:

I randomly got a call from CC yesterday, Sunday, at around 5:30PM our time. They were calling customers in regards to their order, and wanted to tell me that they were ready for payment, and will be shipping sometime this week. I have to give them credit, they are literally working seven days a week to fill orders, according to the two people I spoke with. The Nordic plus one tube is also here, which makes the M4 a 8+1, and a 8+1+1 if I ghost load. I'm excited to finally get this thing completely together and out to the range.
