Spacers and shims should have come with the gun. I like Beretta’s micro core pad (think that’s the name) or a Limbsaver.

I put this fiber sight on my A300, for Turkey hunting. Works great! As for clay’s, focus on the target! I also put a Micro Core pad on it.

I do not believe that the wood stocked guns come with the LOP spacers & shims, to adjust the stock.

None of the A300s come with extra shims. The one in the butt stock is reversible.

Wood guns don't come with LOP spacers.

i've also had the same complaints, but haven't gotten around to actually doing anything about it as i haven't gone trap shooting in a few months now.

and also i can't install the enlarged bolt release button due to the install of the birchwood casey shell catcher to stop the shells from hitting the guys next to me at trap.

i don't think shooting a few hundred rounds will make the charging handle bigger or the bolt release button bigger.

plus, i see a lot the guys with semi-autos at the trap/skeet range with the bigger bolt release button installed, so the small button is an issue across the board.

not sure for the charging handle is those same guys have installed bigger/extended versions, as i can't tell easily unless they use some flashy color like typically they would with the bolt release button.

Oh yeah, the bolt scrape will show up for sure with 100 rounds. The bolt release button however, really works very well. Its surprising what a small amount of leverage can do.

Of course not, but you may decide you don't need that non sense. I've only got a few thousand rounds thru mine, and I haven't found the need for a bigger release, or charging handle.

Good looking out, I agree with you. I already did 4 round of trap at 25 shells a set I'm around 100. That's how I realized the release is my largest complaint. It's meant to be flush and low drag but you really have to get your entire finger on it to get to release. I'm used to being able to release the bolt without looking and I feel like I have watch my finger placement now.

I'm pretty sure the bolt release is something I could see benefit from, the charging handle is the thing I don't think I need. Besides I should only be using it once in the beginning of the day and the rest of the day the action will continue to stay open.... That's the beauty of an autoloader. I'll see how much it bothers me Sunday when I do a sporting clays event.

not sure why you quoted me 3 times when 1 reply could have done it..

either way, within 100 rounds one can easily tell if they want something to improve ease of use. the enlarged button is easily something that helps especially when you are hitting that thing 25 times a match.

and if all others are jumping off a bridge, well there must be a good reason. maybe there is a giant lava flow coming towards us. wouldn't you jump off that bridge into water to save yourself instead of burning in lava?

and i don't. i stopped going a few months back. action pistol is more fun my a300 sits in the back of the safe now.

Update:

Got to take my A300 out to Sporting Clays event today.... Let me start by saying that it was probably one of my favorite events I've ever attended. I had a blast!! I feel like Trap is going to be boring to me now. I am definitely a fan. Met some really cool people today too!

I also learned that I have a LOT TO LEARN. I was used to drawing from below and coming up to the target. I need to learn to follow the bird and match it's speed and then lead or shoot direct depending on the clay and how it came out of the thrower. Seeing the different set ups was a real eye opener, I saw my first rabbit and Midi, Mini clays. I won't go into detail but I learned a lot!! Basically I need to learn a lot of technique and hone it... which I am looking forward to.

I am officially hooked!

Went with a Kick eez butt pad, and it has helped a lot as well. the recoil wasn't bad but it certainly got a bit much after a hundred rounds compouncing with a small hard pad that the A300 came with.

secondly I got a Fiber optic front sight.. originally ordered the Truglo (I have truglo TFX on two of my M&P's and love them) but wasn't a fan of the tiny fiber optic starbrite I recieved. #1 because it wasn't sized right and #2 because it was very small and didn't pick up much light. Ordered the Hiviz comp sight and I am very impressed with it. Replaceable rods and different screw sizes to fit any gun. Very good at light gathering and the size is perfect for me.

Extended bolt release is on order from Briley.... Looking forward to it. After a full set of sporting clays today I can say that the factory release isn't horrible but I am looking forward to the easier leverage and oversized button.

Not going to get the charging handle,I dont need it. I only used it twice today. When I started the day and when I got home to clean her... so unless one comes up that doesn't ruin my finish I am completely fine with the OEM part.

Beretta has made one hell of a great shotgun with the A300 but a few finishing touches and now it is perfect in my world. I can't wait to spend many weekends honing my skills. I'll be looking in to some training next.
