Does anyone currently make double barrel shotguns?

Looking for a brand new double barrel shotgun either over under or side by side.
Are these being made anymore?

Most used ones are pricey, are there any entry level double barrels out there?

I have a tristar in 16 gauge, shoots good no problems yet, but I and a few friends have CZ redhead premiers in different gauges, I highly recommend them, a very nice shooting o/u for 800 dollars, points and shoulders great!!

I picked up this CZ 20 ga from Bud's gun shop in the spring for under a grand. Great pointing gun and very nice wood.

Sorry to say, I really do not understand the desire for a 2 barrel shotgun for home defense. Six rounds would be the bare minimum I would consider for an HD firearm. I own a Beretta Silver Pigeon and I would never use it for HD (unless it is the only thing laying around).

For a sheer "mall ninja"shotty, I will get a Mossberg Shockwave when I get to Texas. In 20 gauge, holds 6 rounds.

If you asked this question on a dedicated shotgun forum, you'd receive many responses stating that entry level doubles are a bad idea. Some are probably just gun snobs, but there is some truth to it. Getting a double to point and hit the same POI with both barrels take time and energy. Something cheap manufacturing processes don't have an appetite for.

I don't consider myself a gun snob, but I honestly believe that most 'entry level' (read: cheap) double guns are a bad idea. However, I keep that opinion to myself when I find out that the person seeking a cheap double gun is looking to find or make a 'coach gun' or some other crap that doesn't matter if it's well regulated, fits well, is built to withstand 10,000 rounds, etc.

No, I save the "don't buy a cheap double" drivel for the people asking "what cheap O/U should I buy for sporting clays", because they are looking for a double gun for all the wrong reasons.

If I were to look for a cheap double for whatever reason I'd stick to a Savage 311, Stevens 530, or a Lefever Nitro Special; one of the hardware store guns that was built to be used. Not because they are better than the Stoeger or whatever (I've never looked at the Stoegers or other modern cheap double guns), but because they are proven to be good, strong, guns and are often very cheap.

I'm not sure I would trust a Stoeger double gun to shoot a couple rounds of sporting clays every weekend for the next ten years; but that's not what the OP was asking about and not why the OP wanted a double gun.
