Having had the unfortunate chance to point a shotgun at a home intruder, i tell you what, the LAST thing i wanted to do was make any noise and give away my position.
I carefully loaded one round and put two in the tube mag as quietly as i could while my wife called 911. I'm 6' 270lbs and i've been in my share of fights. At that moment however, i was scared sh**less for myself, my wife and my infant daughter. I was working through the fear, no freezing up but being quiet until the last possible moment became a huge priority.
