Since it's picky on ammo, it sounds more like a reason not to get an SA-08.
The SA-08 does not automatically adjust for heavy vs light loads. The Win SX3 does (supposedly) automatically adjust. The Rem 1100 & 11-87 can shoot pretty much anything if properly cleaned and lubed.

Who makes the shotgun that's basically a carbon copy of the M4 but cheaper? I'm drawing a blank right now
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

Nope not those (M4 is gas operated, not inertia). I want to say someone copied the M4 completely (or very, very close anyways), right down to the gas system, but it only costs like $1000-$1200 instead of $1800.

Or maybe I'm just not remembering something correctly.

Was it Beretta maybe? Would make sense since it's the same parent company, so no patent issues.

Ah found it, it's the Remington Versa Max Tactical. It's *almost* the same as an M4, I'm not really sure what the differences are. But it costs about 60% the price of an M4

I love my Versamax, it always works and is super soft shooting.
I also just picked up a 1301 Beretta, and its a nice piece too.

Traditionally, I've liked the way remingtons fit, so I would probably get the V3.

Update: Remington now has a $100 rebate on the V3, so it's $499 after rebate at Turners.

VersaMax and V3 use essintially the same gas system as the M4.

As a rule they are not picky on ammo. Doesn't matter what make, you occasionally get one that's picky.

I bought an 1187 used in the 90s and have put easily a 1000 rounds through it without a single problem. I recommend them and I see used 1187s for sale on Calguns for $500 or so.

Anyone tried CZ autoloading shotties? The MSRPs are surprisingly low, makes me wonder what a used one could be had for...
