I just the other day, bought a H&R Pardner for my daughter. I was thinking about the Stevens, but chose not to get that. My understanding is that the Remington' s 870 patent was bought by H & R, (Remington failed to renew?) and the Pardner is pretty much based on it, if not the clone.
