Stevens 320

I am thinking about purchasing a Stevens 320. Just for a fun range toy. Do any of you have any experience with them? Big 5 has them on sale right now.

I have the one with pistol grip and ghost ring sights. It's been reliable and accurate. Has some kick because of it's light weight. Fun shotgun. Almost sold it because I needed money but glad I didn't. They had issues a few years back but they have been corrected. Hickok45 did a good review on YouTube. Check it out.

I had a 79 GMC, but my review of the shotgun is much the same. Mine has around 4 of the Walmart Federal bulk packs through it, then probably 100ish rounds of cheap buckshot, and quite a few slugs. It's great for a cheap gun.

Cheap and functional, pretty smooth - pistol grip stock is too long for me. Nicely put together and goes bang. Aftermarket furniture is available for it - unlike the Stevens 350 I got first (and love).

Big 5? I refuse to go there for firearm or shooting supplies now, out of principle, after they recently stabbed independent gun shops and gun owners in the back.
Better to go to Gun Genie or similar, and support your local mom & pop shops.

There are no more mom and pop shops that carry those around here. If I were to order online, then I pay a $100 transfer fee bringing the price to $300. I've been dealing with the same manager at Big 5 for 22 years. I buy a lot of firearms there and I get great service. Could you elaborate how they stabbed independent gun shops in the back?

My local shop charges the $35 in fees, for DROS. That's it.

I'm not sure where you live, but all of the places around here charge $100 just to receive a firearm. That is the average rate in Contra Costa County. The last place that charge around $35 with Fairfield Pond, and they went out of business. Even Kevin Smith charged $50 to do it. Why should I pay extra on top of the $199.00 dollar price that I can get at Big 5? Maybe you live in the place with super nice ffls that work for littering nothing.

Check Gallery of Guns, I did for your area (94506?). There were no $100 transfer fees shown.
Best price I saw was $219.59; out the door was $274.75 after including tax ($19.21 and fees ($34.95).

Ya..just saying there's gotta be better than $100 xfer available.

And ya...even $40 can be prohibitive on a $200 gun if there aren't saving elsewhere.

And ya, a big part of me says you need a way to secure inventory. Guns making their way to BG's does none of us any good.
