The second I left I started doing the math and realized I should've just gone with the 25th

Plus it includes the other stuff, which aren't cheap.

My wife shoots a Benelli M2 Field Compact 12 gauge, 26" barrel. Model no. 11017. It has a shorter length of pull compared to the regular ones and the recoil pad on the stock is also slightly smaller. Otherwise it is similar to a regular M2.

They also have a 20 gauge for the Compact version with a 24" barrel.

It is a very good shotgun. Wife and I shoot trap at a fairly high volume, over 10,000 rounds a year, and the M2 has held up like a champ.

Awesome. I don't know why but my wife doesn't like shooting a 12 as much as a 20. She's still pretty new to guns so I think maybe its psychological. She hits way more stuff with a 12. Not sure if my 12s just fit her better or if its having more pellets in the pattern.

What's the difference between a SBE and a M2? They're both inertia guns, yes?

They both use the same inertial driven system, yes, but there are some significant differences:
            - SBE II is chambered for 3.5 inch shells while M2 is chambered for 3 inch shells.

            - The SBE II receiver can be broken into 2 pieces, the top part comes off as part of the barrel and this makes cleaning the shotgun extremely easy. The M2's receiver is the more "traditional" one piece type.

            - SBE II comes with a mid-bead and front bead, M2 has the front bead only.

            - M2 has more variants, including rifled bore and tactical versions.

The SBE series of shotguns are focused on hunters, the M2 is Benelli's general purpose workhorse that basically tries to do everything. The M2 has more accessories available too, thanks to its popularity with the 3 Gun community.

              Since I don't do 3.5" shells, I'd take a M2 over a SBE.

I rarely shoot 3.5" and would've gone with an M2 but no one ever has them in stock. There is the argument that some day I will be some where with some one who's shooting 3.5" and I will run out of shells and then I can use theirs. I do actually hunt with some guys who only shoot 3.5" so maybe just maybe one day the SBEII will come in handy lol.

I have the SBE II and hunt with 3.5's. Favorite shotgun by far, and I'll be ordering the SBE III any day now. Cant go wrong with Benelli imo

How bad is the recoil with 3.5"? I learned to wings shoot on a pump so it can't be any worse ya?

                            I won't go near 3.5" shells.

Roger that!^^^. Never felt the need on waterfowl. Nowadays, it's only upland birds, so 2.75" shells. Even less recoil! Perfect. Hi-jack over, sorry.
