Back boring is a marketing gimmick.

Do you mean porting or is this another gimmick from the industry?

So this thread started out asking about CZ shotguns, it has now morphed into...
          Extended chokes
          Back boring
          Forcing cones
          Porting

Porting, at shotgun pressure levels is useless.
Extended chokes offer 2 advantages, 1- It's easier to see what you have in the barrels. 2- A little added protection for the end of the barrels.
Back boring and forcing cones, can have an influence on felt recoil IF both are done properly and in conjunction with one another. That said, proper fit of the gun will have a bigger impact on felt recoil.
I shot a CZ for a couple years, for the money it was a good gun, no issues with it at all. Now I shoot a Zoli, a very soft shooting gun. Why, because it fits me well and the detail spent on the barrels...Bore diameter and forcing cones.
