      Oak Tree

The one (and only) time I shot the sporting clays course at Oak Tree (I've shot a lot of skeet there years ago), a couple of station threw broken birds only and a few stations were out of birds entirely.

When one of the management/owners pulled up in his cart and asked how we were doing, we explained how many stations weren't working, including the one we were standing at.

Instead of getting out of the cart and loading the machine that was 15 feet away, he got out his radio and called for someone else to come drive out and check the stations.

He could have fixed it right then and there, but he didn't care.
And that's my impression of management at Oak Tree.
Just give me your money and move along.
They know there are limited locations to shoot, so just be happy you can shoot at all and accept the substandard service.

When we checked out, they did not charge s for the broken/nonexistent birds (they accepted the count we gave them), which was nice. But the round was disappointing due to the number of machines that were down.

Not saying I wont go back, but I'm sure not in a hurry to go back there either.

Here's some pictures of the silver pigeon I brought home today. Yes, I shoved it into the couch to stand it up. Camera phone photographer.

            Pure sexy!
I once pondered over the debate of 9mm vs. .40, then I was introduced to .38 super and 10mm and forgot all about it.

Has anyone said this yet? If you are thinking about getting an M4, get an M4. My only regret with buying mine, is that I waited so long to do it.

Of course, an O/U is prettier, so since you don't plan to shoot it much, maybe that's the way to go

And the obvious answer is, get both! If you can't afford both right now, keep in mind that you'll always be able to buy an O/U - as far as gun bans go, they'll be the last thing to go. Even Biden said everyone should have one. Semi-auto combat shotguns, on the other hand, may not be around that much longer, with the way things have been going.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

                          Beretta 1301

I am in the boat you are in now. I look for a high end Semi Auto shotgun, possibly for 3gun, but like to use for hunting, skeet, and self defense. The M4 is a great gun, US Military uses, but expensive and heavy. The Versamax needs magazine spring upgrades, and is heavy but I hear very soft recoil. The Mossberg 930 seems to have a lot of issues out of the box, but is a favorite among many. The M2 Benelli seems to be a good option, but the comp version is close to the cost of a M4 tactical, but is lighter. I think I have settled on the Beretta 1301 comp. One can pick one up off the www for less than $1100, and it has already been customized for 3gun, but would be great for hunting, clays, or defense. Just need to add extended magazine tube, and ready to go. One can swap chokes to suit the situation. I have not heard of any problems with this gun.
I am still hanging onto my wallet though.
Has anybody has issues with their 1301?
                          Thank you.

I'm definitely more of a rifle/pistol guy. I was looking at a benelli m4, or an OU. My budget is about 3k, but I don't HAVE to spend it all. Any suggestions? Again, I'm not a big shotgun shooter, I got a custom precision rifle on the way, so that's been my focus as of late. Thanks!
Depends on purpose, for 3-gun ,beretta 1301 is good
