    Mossberg Maverick 88

I was thinking about getting the Maverick 88. Anybody have any experience with it? The price point was really low so I was wondering how well it held up.

I have it as my bedside shotgun. Very reliable. I ran 500 rnds through it and not a single hiccup. And if I ever have to use it, God forbid, I won't feel bad temporarily losing it to the law.

I used to keep one on my bedside when I lived out back too.

            ^^^ hey, green shag!

Consider high brass for the boudoir. ...00, and or slugs

Op, 200$ for the 8 shot would be well spent.

Love mine and considering buying a second. I've put about 300 shells through mine, mostly target loads, but I've also ran various bucks. No issues and I highly recommend.

Had mine since 2002 and still runs great. I use it for hunting and trap shooting. Just has a little rust

It's like 90% Mossberg 500, and a trigger group manufactured across the border in Mexico - also the forend is missing some other bits, so it can't be swapped out as easily.
Reliable, simple, holds a buncha shells - no complaints!

My bro in law just got one. We both ran that and my mossy 590 for about 2 hours the other day at the range. He loves it. He's just going to swap the stock out for a hogue 12 LOP like mine. He is warrior size like me and likes the 12" lop. I wouldn't mind picking up a Mavrick and putting s pistol grip on it to make it a short travel gun.

Maverick 88 is my go to HD.

                        Never failed.

My buddy's new 500 mag follower got stuck in the tube during our last range trip rendering the gun a single shot.

I had one for a few years, just gave it to a friend... Legally of course. I never had an issue in terms of functionality. I did get tired of the fact that I was limited in my ability to upgrade it. I got a 590 I'm mid dros / 10 day wait right now. If you are on a budget it's a fine shotgun, but you are stuck with it as is, and stupid as it sounds, I always wished I had a legit mossberg and not anything less, wished I had spent the extra cash.

Could happen to an 88 too...now the 590 though you can easily fix that.

Alright, Just bought it after seeing everybody's recommendations. Suggestions on aftermarket parts for functionality and to make it look cool?
