Thoughts on Keltec KSG?

It is awesome.

Most of the people that hate don't own or have never shot it. They hate because of the looks or because it is cool to hate on the KSG - and make dumb comments like it is some sort of toy because it is unique.

I have put well over 3k rounds through mine of all brands and sizes - including Aguila minishot shells, and styles from slugs to various birdshot... zero issues. Zero.

I have videos online of 50-75 yard shots on 10x10 steel plates, deadly accurate.

I put away my Mossberg and this is my main shotgun and with Aguila's on board I have +20 rounds. I have had mine for years now.

^This. I'll admit mine did have some initial teething issues (FTF- shell ejector). But after break in it has been flawless since. I trust it enough to be my primary HD gun now. One tube with 12 Aguila mini's and the other with 7 Win #4 buck.

It's a cool toy but that's about it. A buddy of mine has one but it's definitely not his SD shotgun. If has a snappy recoil and manipulating it I'd kind of goofy. I thought it was fun but I wouldn't spend that type of money on that type of shotgun

I would like to try one, unfortunately they don't allow the KSG at the trap field where I shoot (Sunnyvale) so I don't see them at the range. Hopefully as they become more available, Reeds will have one for rental.

Livermore Gun & Rod lets you fire slugs, I go once a month and put 1 inch holes with the KSG, intimidating YES

When the long version is in production with 40 slugs ther will only be two vertical sticks standing when finished shooting the target

Pros:

It looks like a bazooka
Capacity (I guess)

Cons:

Obscenely long
Still made of plastic which probably means it's fragile
It's a Keltec


I guess this might do ok in California but in a free state why the hell would anyone buy this when you can get a VEPR shotgun for cheaper, will take detachable mags (and drums) and is like 18" shorter than this thing. Oh and it's not a freakin pump action.

Thanks, what I meant is that I don't have a KSG but is hoping someone at the range might have one and willing to let me try it.

I basically wrote the gun off as a novelty. Nothing wrong with that though, I own a few different guns that would be categorized similarly.

Then I really got to shoot a buddies and fell in love with it. Fun to shoot, I only shot around 100 rounds but it was reliable for me that day.
I pretty much have decided to pick one up this year..
