Best Shotgun for Under $500?

Been wanting to purchase a shotgun as a gift for my brother but my budget is only about $500. (also still new to learning about shotguns in particular)
Found some top 10 like lists online and thought it'd be good to get feed back from another set of eyes.

You really can't go wrong with a basic pump our semi auto. They can fill a bunch of different roles.

Under $500 Benelli SupeNova.. under $400 is the Benelli Nova, Mossberg 590 is also great for under $500.
