I picked up a new shotgun and after shooting about 15 #8 shells i noticed a pinhole in the bottom of the receiver. It's a 20 Gage benelli montefeltro. It looks to be the size of one of the shoots in the shell,is this something to worry about?I would post a picture but don't have a photo app on my phone

What does your owner's manual say it is?Comment

The OP asked a legitimate question about something he does not know about. I thought that was one of the main purposes of a forum like this. Having a photo app has little to no relevance. I don't have any of that mess. Sounds like finding somewhere else to get answers may be the best advice he can get here.
Sorry Eddie, I don't know what that is either as I don't know that model so it could be some kind of adjustment hole for access or simply even and access hole for staking. I would also be curious to know so please post the answer when you find it.JD McGuire, Owner

If this was an attempt at humor, it failed.
The OP asked a legitimate question and this is all you guys can offer.
I would expect this kind of response in OT, but not here.Comment

The hole is to put a roll pin punch through to knock out or replace the pin that holds in your bolt release assembly......if that's the hole you are referring to.... Hard to tell for sure without a pic.Last edited by tinman1975; 11-02-2016, 12:50 PM.Comment

Thanks Tinman. I suspected it was an access hole for some manner of staking. Older I get the more I learn, just wish I wouldn't forget it ten minutes later.JD McGuire, Owner

Probably this, both my Benelli Supersport and my wife's Benelli M2 has it too.
And yeah OP, time to get on with the times and get a better phone!

Racer is cool with everyone, meant no harm and he has a ton of knowledge to share. We all learn together here and a little levity is fine. To many other forums have no discipline and show little respect. This forum is the best thing that has happened to gun owners in CA as it fights for you guys. I come here to show support for you 'cause as CA goes so may go the rest of the country if we all don't stick together.JD McGuire, Owner
