A shell pouch is the most useful, inexpensive purchase. You can get away with cargo pants, but the pouch is better.

The rest is preference. A toe rest, a towel, gloves, blinders...

Pretty sure a lawn chair and cigars are also necessary.

I wear a vest and a pouch. The vest is to keep my bra strap from digging into my shoulder and my shirt from bunching up, but I don't care for the shell weight dragging on my shoulders. So I wear a pouch to keep that weight on my waist, plus I can hang my empty bag from my belt too.

You may not have an issue with a bra strap.

My wife used the vest for the same reason. Just bought her a pouch a couple weeks ago because it was her color [muddy girl Camo]. Now She likes using both. The pouch is good because it holds a full box of shells without having to empty the box.
