I have one I bought probably 20 years ago. It fits perfectly and looks great. I bought it to interchange with the full choke 28" the gun came with, so Blue Fits. In fact the Blue is nicer than Remington's probably was when new.

      +1

Mossberg makes barrels for the 870. Ithaca also made barrels for the 870 a while ago.

Guess I'll just go with it the way it shows up. Thanks for the advice lads. I'll post up pics in a few days. I'm excited to get back into shotgunning, though I've yet to really explore bird hunting.

Does anyone have any experience with this barrel? Will it match the matte finish on my 10 year old 870 Express, and is it a direct replacement with the 28" barrel and the associated (4+1? I don't remember) round magazine tube? If it isn't the same finish, could I hit it with some flat engine paint and it'd be close enough?

I ordered the exact same Bbl. for my 870 Wingmaster 12 Ga. 28" this morning, for an HD Bbl.

          It's a '73, and blued.

They have the express finish as well, abit a little more pricey. ($128.50).

Call CS and they should be able to help you swap it out.
