    Which load has more recoil?

I have an opportunity to grab a free case of Federal shells. Either 3" #4 buck or 2-3/4" 00 buck. Which do you think shoots softer? I'm not able to split it up and try it out first. Figured it'd be easier to ask than to buy a box of each, thanks!

    WTB used AK MFER.

Compare the drams, and the payload weight. But if I had to guess, it's probably the 3" load.

More drams = higher velocity = more recoil

More shot weight = more recoil

Generally the 2 3/4 " will be softer shooting

both are very mild for a grown up man.
You need to think about application, what shot size you need?
Are you going to shoot quails, dove, rabbit? than #4. Geese? 00 then.
Paper? go yo Walmart and buy #7.5 for 4.95 a box.

                2 3/4" = Standard.
                3" = Magnum.

Federal is my favorite shotshells too

                  I agree with you.

Quail, dove and rabbit and lead #4?

Quail and doves easily fall to lead #7.5 or #8. The classic rabbit load is one ounce of lead #6.

It takes 00 Buckshot to take down a goose?

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

But before, 00 wasn't uncommon for pass shooting high geese.

I'd heard of people using #4 buck in full chocked guns for 100 yard shots on geese, but never #00.
