I think you need to define your question a little better. Sounds like your asking where and what you would purchase to turn your likely stock mossberg 500 hunting gun into a tactical gun. I'm just guessing so a little more detail should evoke lots of interest and several responses.

I'll trade you my 18.5 barrel for your hunting barrel. It's a 12ga.

I'm a fan of weapon lights, and something useful to sight with at night. They make tritium inserts for these, although a ghost ring setup would be useful as well. Especially if you intend to use slugs.

This is the OP's first (possibly last) post.
                      For the OP (original poster):
                      -the question is too vague.
-post a link of what Mossberg you already have &/or pictures.
-post a link of what you want.
-"tactical" is in the name of several Mossberg products; again, the question is too vague.

Overall recommendation: Buy a model of Mossberg as close to what you want as you can; then modify from there. Also, Mossberg may change various specifications within its models over the years. What's exactly available now, could change, perhaps a year from now.

If it was a typo af = as then my apologies to the OP, but it seems I hurt a few posters feelings ahhh. You should try Googling "AF" which means "As Fu*k" so hence my reply. You probably already guessed I cringe when people call shotguns a "Shotty" also.

As for converting it to a more tactical version you can't beat a 18"-20" barrel, SureFire lighted fore end, MagPul SGA stock, and a side saddle. IMHO the grip angle of the SGA trumps the Houge since it is the closest to having a "PG" pistol grip, "so you don't have to Google it"on a Mossberg while still being able to manipulate the tang mounted safety.

You actually are in a good place. As for getting tactical, you're in better shape than having a muzzle loader or a single shot! I have 3 barrels for my 870, 26 inch with a choke, 24 inch rifled with scope mount and 20 inch cylinder bore with rifle sights. I have so much fun with shotguns that I cast my own slugs to reload. Look what can happen to you. Welcome to the forum.
