      Remington sent me to midway.
They seen to have the best price at $279.99.
I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the boat on a shop people use that might have good prices on shotgun parts.

I'm just going to bite the #6 shot and get the new barrel from Midway when I get the spare change. Unless I find a new one cheaper.

Wow! $279.99 just seems like a lot of money for pump action shotgun barrel given the cost of a complete gun. I think while I waited to put together the bucks for the above barrel, I would be watching ebay. You might get lucky and find exactly what you want, or a least something that will satisfy your needs for significantly less. Just my cheap *** way, and ultimately not always the best approach. Good Luck!!!

It's an interesting point. For the same money, you could buy a Mossberg with chokes on sale also. A "Brush gun", and save the wingmaster for clays or nostalgia.

This gun is worth more to me than the $400.00 this magnum gun could get me.
Having two barrels for it is a giant plus to me.
Not interested in a Mossberg of any type. Not interested in today's Remington either.
Mine is well seasoned and butter smooth. One of the nicest finishes of any gun I have ever seen.
Sometimes you get lucky and get a keeper. I have a keeper.

                  Nedro,
I have a similar issue. I have one made in 1951 and it will stay just like it is.

Nedro, I certainly understand where your coming from. My mid seventies Wingmaster, my first shotgun, will never leave either. You are right the build quality of these older guns is something special. I think if I was buying new barrel I would buy the barrel from a retailer that will allow me to return it if you are not happy with the fit and finish. Not sure what Midways policy is, but I have bought lots from them and my experiences have always been excellent. Remington's reputation on fit and finish not great these days, and it may be that even their top of the line blued finish barrels might be a disappointment and don't match your gun or your expectations. Just a thought.

In post#9 a guy offers a barrel for very reasonable price. Anything wrong with it?
