If you're trying to line up beads with the clay, you're going to miss.

You should be watching the clay and with a properly mounted and fitted gun, the barrel will be pointed where your eyes are looking.

And yeah, the 870 is fine, but you will have to be quick with the slide for skeet and doubles.

A A300 will be your best bet. Right B?

250 rounds would equal about 45 minutes of actual handling time. Either he had real dirty hands or the gun has been shot a lot more than 250 rounds.

Yes, but a 20 year old 870 is far better than a new one.

Its a great gun and you got a decent price.

I bought mine at Pacific sporting arms, was 2200 otd for a 32" sporting SP1. Online sellers had them as low as 1850, plus shipping, tax, ffl fees, etc but I didn't want the hassle so I just went to PSA and picked the one I liked with the prettiest wood out of their selection. Normally the fancy wood goes on the higher end guns anyway so its nothing fantastic, but I liked it.

I remember that gun vividly, its still probably the nicest one I've seen.

Target guns aren't generally subjected to "beating". "Beaters" would generally be for field use, most often waterfowling, especially around salt/brackish water.

If you're looking for just the barrel, very infrequently, almost never. I do get a number of UnSingle 682 trap guns in, especially before the Grand in August. Keep an eye on my sight or PM me and I'll keep you on my list.

I dabble just a little playing guitar. Have been using Martin cleaners and polish on guitars and wood stock guns for years with good results.

It works for $5k guitars, and most rifle/shotgun stocks.

Found the paragraph. In your case you would use danish or swedish oil. But looking at your pictures its not needed right now.

Oil finished stocks should be rubbed down with an appropriate oil if they appear dry or worn. If the oil finish is satin or semi-gloss use a product such as George Brothers Lin-Speed Oil or Birchwood Casey Tru Oil. If the oil finish is of the matte type Danish or Swedish oil will work well.
