Obviously, from the pic the problem is feeding and not extraction.

What ysr said. But first, I'd disassemble the gun to the point of being able to shine a light at the receiver end of the mag tube then look at the mag tube from the muzzle end of the gun, barrel removed. The tube should be clean. If not, run a rag on a dowel and clean it. Too, check the condition of the follower. Is it made of metal? I don't understand why there aren't more magazine aluminum follower issues, from galling against the steel mag tube.

Then I'd put new Remington parts in it. I'd say your issue is a weak mag spring plus a dirty tube, or your carrier is messed up. Take the trigger group out of the gun and show us pictures of both sides of the carrier, if you would.

And this is why I don't buy used.

If your getting rid of it, WHY ?, (owner) cause it a great gun that gives no trouble, & that's why I'm selling it to you.

I've played this game before & lost every time.

And this is why I don't buy used.
There are at least two different ways to buy used. There's buying from a private party eager to get rid of a problem gun, then there's buying from a dealer that selling a person's collection (usually an elderly widow offing her late husband's gear).

Over the last few years I've been able to score several gorgeous, little-used 870 Wingmasters and this 1100 that way. No issues with the guns whatsoever other than updating the pump guns with a Remington factory upgrade, a Flex-tab conversion.

Then I put short barrels on 'em. You know, for social work. I've kept the longer original barrels for hunting. And older Remingtons seem to be nicer guns, anyway.

You might shoot a message to the guy at AIP Tactical. I believe he is a Remington armorer, and might know what to look for. My questions would be, does it happen when the magazine is full, or empty when there is less pressure on the rounds. And, could the lifter possible be bent?

Careful. Don't get the vintage Coleman fever. Then we'd have to call you compulsivelanternbuyer. Trust me, it happens. lulz.

Revoman suggested the same as you; to contact J.D. MacGuire of AI&P Tactical. I suggested too that his carrier may be messed up, which is why I suggested he show us two pictures of it.

                Remington 1100 help

There was a small burr on the left side of the carrier latch. This is what was catching the rounds and why also it would feed fine when I stuck my finger in there and moved the shell to the left. I filed it down until it was smooth and reassembled. Voila! No more hang ups. The real test will be firing it...which I can't see there being a problem.
