    Mossberg 500 help

Hey guys so i just bought my first shotgun took it to the range last week and while at the range had like 3 or 4 failure to feeds out of about 75 rounds put through it..so i get home field strip it and clean it and after it was all put back together i tryed to cycle some rounds through just to make sure everything was okay but now it seems like it doesnt feed at all.. looked at it and it looks like the cartridge stop is not letting the shell out of the magazine tube which is resulting in all those failure to feeds...i took some pictures so you guys can see what im seeing this is my first shotgun so i could be wrong i dont know...my question is if it is the cartridge stop should i juat try to bend it back some or should i just contact mossberg??...thanks in advance for any help and tips
    Thanks guys.

Have you tried different ammo? I have read of a lot of problems with the cheap Winchester bulk shells.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

check and make sure your spring is not kinked. Also, some people have polished the tip of the stop with fine sand paper making it smooth to allow better feeding.

Take off the magazine tube, thoroughly clean it like the barrel and look for anything that might hang up feeding like problems with the metal. Clean and check the follower to make sure it isn't damaged. Wipe down the spring and make sure it isn't kinked.

From your picture the shell stops looked like they were working.

Last try different shells, something could have been wrong with the ones you had.

So my stopper looks exactly like that with the snap caps I have in it right now.

I have only put 23 rounds down my tube..... but I never had a FTF

do you have any snap caps to try?

              EDIT:
I used Federal rifled slugs and Royal Star rifled slugs

Are those the Winchester "Universal" rounds? If so, they seem to get a lot of complaints.

Send back to Mossberg. Let them take care of it. Ask them for a shipping label. Do not mess with internals unless you really know what you are doing.

If those are walmart bulk 100 round pack then dont fret i have had the same issue with my Moss 500. I believe it to be particular with this ammo.

New with a pump gun....I've got to ask, are you shucking the pump fully and with authority? Many feeding problems with pump guns can be avoided by fully pumping the slide and doing so with some authority, don't baby it. This is especially true for the first couple of hundred rounds.
