I was at insight about a week and a half ago and walked in expecting to purchase some of their shells. As they were starting a tab the gentlemen behind the counter asked if I needed ammo or if I had my own. I informed him that I needed to purchase some, which was unfortunate because I had left 3 boxes of shells at home that I would have loved to use. So although I did not straight out ask if I could have brought my own ammo, it sure sounded like I could have. From what I've heard Insight makes you purchase their shotshells which run $5.00 for 10 rounds. That's way too expensive for shotshells and totally not worth it if you're going to shoot a bunch.
I guess they figured that there aren't many indoor shotgun ranges in SoCal and use this to their advantage.Comment

Can't you just buy one box and bring/use more of your shells? Do they keep track of how many shells you use or something?Comment

I was thinking the same thing. They just asked to see the shotgun and that was it. I wasn't asked if I was carrying any ammunition so I figure that you may bring your own. I checked all the rules that were posted up on the walls and they didn't mention that you have to buy their ammo. They use #8 game load @ 5 dollars for 10 shells. I'll ask next time I go.
