    DP-12 double barrel 12 gauge

Has anyone experienced the Standard Manufacturing DP-12 Double Barrel 12 gauge shotgun?
From the videos I have seen it looks pretty good.
    Any comments?

I just picked one up. Haven't had the chance to shoot it yet. I'll report back after I do.

It's amazing how short it is. I like that a lot. And of course I love the fact that I can load it up with 16 rounds of 00-buck. What could possibly be better than this for home defense. Nothing.

Only negatives are it's heavy, and expensive. But it's definitely a quality build. Comparing it to a KSG is like comparing a Mercedes to a Kia.

Just noticed this is in the Gallery forum. If a mod notices, could we get this thread moved back to the Shotgun discussion form? Thank you.

So I am curious, is having 16 rounds in it legal per CA standards?

also, it looks like it fires 1 then the other.... is there only 1 trigger and it fires 2 bullets per single pull?
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

2 short per pump action, 1 shot per trigger pull.

It has 2, 8 round magazines.

That's not how it works at all. 1 shot per trigger pull.

To confirm, the slide is cycled, loading two rounds (one in each chamber). Then pulling the trigger will fire the right barrel. Pulling the trigger again will fire the left barrel. Once both barrels have been fired the slide unlocks and you can cycle it again, ejecting the two spent shells and reloading two new shells, one from each magazine.

The shotgun seems well made and is heavy enough to absorb some recoil so I imagine shooting it would be enjoyable. It's a bit unwieldy being as thick and as heavy as two regular pump shotguns but certainly usable. My only issue with it so far is that after years of training to "pump, fire, pump, fire" this would require me to "pump, fire, fire, pump, fire, fire". As a defensive tool I'd have to do a lot of training to overcome muscle memory.

I got mine from Audiophil2 here on Calguns. One of the great FFLs

Mike at EBR Works gets them in occasionally too, another one of the greats

Michael Bane evaluated one and bought the one he evaluated and now keeps it in the bedroom of his home loaded. He doesn't buy many of his T and E firearms. I personally think it's worth owning based on what I have read.

                          Plenty in stock.

I also have the stilletto chokes. Standard is out of stock on them.
