    Low recoil = less powder, plain and simple. Good for the range, but if you want a home defense round a full power load or slug would be better. Something like the Winchester PDX1, which is a Foster style slug designed to break into pieces, will prevent over penetration without sacrificing lethality.

      Cheap bulk Federal #7-1/2 and #8 at Walmart - $21.74 for 100 rounds - good for training. Save the more expensive 00 for patterning, HD classes, competition, and self defense.
