If your going to toss a pistol grip or thumbhole grip stock on, your going to appreciate the 870's safety. Alot of people like the slide release on the mossbergs but I have never had the slightest of problem with it being up front like the remington's.
There are more accessories for the 870 than you can shake a stick at. You wont be disappointed.

hell.. I called Remington to replace a rear sight screw for my 597 and they ended up sending me a whole rear sight no questions asked for free. They also fired that douche saying ar's are not hunting firearms, that sold me. 100% Remington all the way.

I bought mine from Turners. They gave me the sale price even though the sale was over. Paid $299 but it came out to around $375 with tax and DROS. I still need to mail in that $30 rebate!
