    Benelli M4

Those of you that own one is it really all that?

Is it worth the 1500 dollar price tag?

My department just authorized us to carry these...prior to this we were only allowed to carry a pump action 870. The catch is the department will give us the training but not issue us the guns...so I have to buy my own. Is it worth it? I have no experiance with this particular shotgun unfortunately. I know our SWAT team fields them so it must be better right?

I would say that it's well worth it. More so for you because it sounds like you can probably write-off the expense.

        I like mine.
It cycles almost anything I throw in there (reliably).
But it take getting use to, not the simple pump and fire like my 870.
Limited Edition has the suppossedly heavy barrel w/ NO choke like they use in the military.
Regular M4s have the regular barrel with the ability to accept chokes.

Great shotgun but they're more like $1800 now due to the "Obama Frenzy".

If you can't get a department letter that allows you to buy one with the adjustable stock, you may (or may not) find the length of pull quite long.

Is it longer than an ar-15 with the A2 stock?

The general consensus I have found over and over again, regarding the telescoping stock, is if you actually shoot the M4, you want the fixed stock. If you don't shoot it, and you are more concerned with looking cool, then the telescoping stock is for you.

Fired a friend of mine and it was awesome shooter. I almost forgot I did not have to pump. Going through the rounds was pretty insane. Since you are leo why not just go for one of these,

There is no way that thing would ever be authorized. hahaha I can just see the look of terror on the citizens faces when I clear a bank after a robbery with that thing. People here complain about the militarization of law enforcement and you want me to carry a tac'd out saiga 12 with a barrel magazine? I have had to hold an 870 on target for 45 minutes and that was miserable I can only imagine holding that thing it must weight over 20 lbs.

I had to put that in. I'll bet the russian police carries that around, O' I forgot they carry around FA Krinks. Too bad U.S. departments can't use shotguns like these. I am for protection of all leo's against true bad guys. Anyways, All you leo's stay safe.

ill have to argue with ya Grant. though, i will say most people arnt built to my height.

i have the tele-stock pinned on my m4 and i actually prefer shooting with it over the full/pistol.

i like my m4, quite a bit, though it still wont fill the hole in my heart that was left by my m1s90 that i sold... god i miss that gun.
