    Cool thanks.
I just wanna check if I need to buy one or not.
I got a new long gun safe this week as well, so I'm good there.
    Cheers!

Be rough with it. As my instructor said, it won't break. It's solidly built and if I ever ran out of ammo, it's hefty enough to cause some damage in close quarters.

Just a note for someone wanting to do that and put on a Knoxx recoil reducing stock, it will not be compatible.

        Quote from Knoxx's site:
WARNING 3: Remington 870 SpecOps Stocks CAN NOT be used with oversized or extended safeties. Oversized or extended safeties will cause product failure and possible injury. Contact Knoxx customer service for recommended safety options.

I like the 870 and would rank it superior to the Mossberg 500/590 but for one feature: the placement of the slide release.

Remington placed the slide release on the left side of the gun forward of the trigger guard. This is the most un-ergonomic place, even more so for right handers, although for left-handers at least it is on the left side.

          What were they thinking?

got the same gun a couple months ago. i have never had sore shoulder problems so I didn't feel the need for a Knoxx. The only thing i have done is a Speedfeed stock/forend. Solid gun. I love it!

how come your pump handle is different looking than the original posters pics? Do 870 vary alot when it comes to the pump handle?

I have the Rem 870 express w/synthetic stock. On the barrel it has 2 3/4' and 3" marked. Does this mean it will take 3" magnum 00 buck?

                        Thanks for the help.

                            Thanks,

I wasn't sure without the markings, but I also felt that Remington's manual for that shipped with this was for all 870s. I've put maggies thru other 870s with no problems.

Or I'm lucky to be alive...

                              Update:

                              Update:

I purchased a remington supercell recoil pad, and had a buddy give me some tips on holding the shotgun properly.

Last night, I went back out to Insight, and fired off another 50 rounds. Much, much better. No bruising, feel fine this morning.

The 870 is an awesome shotgun!!!
