Thanks for the Responses Gentlemen!Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...
I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.
Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.

Well I must agree with anyone that recommends beretta anything… I am an avid beretta fan… I love the 391's and bought their a400 extreme when they first came out and the new recoil reduction systems are crazy effective. They cycle the lightest loads flawlessly and the 3.5 inch mags like they are low base target loads.
As far as what is softer shooting I would recommend the benelli 20guage m2. It is very light but with the light target loads it really is, in my opinion, softest shooting semi auto i have ever fired. I just am not a 20 guage fan for trap if you do any kind of competion of serious shooting. but for fun and small game birds you cannot beat it! Beretta all the way though. Durable, decently priced and soft shooting.Comment

If you are just looking for a trap or clay gun, a used 12ga 1100 in good condition would probably be perfect. There are tons of these guns on the used market, and at ~8lbs they are pretty soft shooters.
I am also having an issue with my right shoulder and elbow right now. I recently picked up a Beretta A300 (synthetic) and have been very happy with the way it shoots (using 1 1/8oz #8). It has much less felt recoil than my O/U. I'm sure that with a better than stock pad, it would been even less. The A300 is a field gun and the synthetic version weighs in at ~7lbs. I bought this gun to hunt with, but am shooting clays with it as well, until I heal.Comment

Last week, I jailed a new Beretta A300 with wood furniture. Comes with 3 chokes.
AAA in Vallejo had one for $750. I pick it up on the 30th.Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I have a neck issue and have been shooting the A400'instead of my CG. It actually has made a big difference in the way I feel at the end of the day. You are going to love it. Congrats.
I don't expect everything handed to me. Just set it down anywhere. UnknownComment

Side question - has anyone here with an A300 tried putting a buttstock from, say an A390, 391 or 400 to see if it would fit?
If so, that would open up a whole lot of options to folks who want to set the fun up for different clays games and individual fitment....Comment

Congrats on the Beretta! Ive been thinking about the next gun im going to buy and its either going to be a Milsurp for fun bolt action or a shotgun for skeet and trap. Yeah my buddy keeps on telling me to get a Remington 1100. I saw a really cool Rem 1100 competition. Lots of good stuff of this thread. Do you like how the Beretta shoots?Comment

I've been enjoying shooting mine. Much less recoil than my 870 and less than my 686 SP1 Sporting. Shoulders, swings, and points well. They are easy to adjust for fit, if needed. I saw that there is one (with extra's) currently for sale in So Cal.Congrats on the Beretta!
