Not to mention very difficult to hit anything using full loads and rapidfire.... Looks cool in the movies, but not as useful as one might think....

Trying to modify an 870 to fire like that will get you a round going off with the bolt out of battery and a trip to the ER. Maybe a Darwin Award too.

This one will slam fire. Well kept too. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=116847241
Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

The Constitution shall never be construed to authorize Congress to prevent the people of the United States, who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms. -- Samuel Adams, Debates and Proceedings in the Convention of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 86-87 (Pearce and Hale, eds., Boston, 1850)

In my (somewhat limited) experience, most older pump shotguns will operate this way, and "safely" (ie no gun blowups...)...

            Marginally useful at best.

My Grandfathers Ithaca 37 in 20 gauge will rock me all the way back when I fool with it like that. Not looking forward to repeating the experiment in 12 gauge.... Who am I kidding? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

            Anyone got a 10 gauge?

maybe its just me but i can fire my pump 870 as fast as a semi auto even though it isnt a slamfire. Maybe it is because of learning to shoot i shot only pigeons at my dairy and i needed fast follow up shots. One day i need to time how fast i can get 5 shots off. i hate doing it though if i am shooting at a stationary target cause it seems i try to bring my gun down with my jaw (or just my eyes get back on target quicker than my gun) and the second shot, i take a stock to the jaw
