Some old timers swear by that gun. I have heard them talk about it a few times at the range. Bad shoulders, old age, etc.Calguns Contributor

What have you done for 2A lately?

Yeah, the concept definitely makes sense. Have a gun for trap that's a bit lighter on the shoulder to shoot but is functionally identical to what you're used to handling. But at the same time it's still weird, never heard of it before.Comment

Basically a reverse engineered A5, isn't it?NRA Patron Member

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.
I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.
I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.Comment

The original A5 was a long recoil operated autoloader. This has a gas system for the sake of dumping energy. Basically having a gas piston attached to a weight in the mag tube instead of the bolt carrier.
The difference in the browning A5 action will be obvious in slow-mo.

I know a few people who have them, and have shot one or two - with that system, they're very soft shooters. Their barrels are known to throw great patterns too.
Notes:
There are quite a few cases of receivers cracking; if you're looking for one take note.
The barrels will not interchange with standard 870 barrels. Parts specific to the comp can be hard to find...your best bet is to look on trapshooters.com
It's a single shot, pump action with a gas system. If you're looking for a anything but a dedicated singles gun, look elsewhere.
Current market price seems to be in the $600-850 range from what I've seen - with most around $650ish. Condition, especially receiver condition, will determine price.Last edited by RayPDA; 07-20-2015, 9:30 PM.Comment
