I see that you've already bought some birdshots, also try out some different brands of buckshots and check their patterning. Some people prefer a very tight pattern while some prefer a bit of a spread, so you'll want to find out which ones work best for you.

As you might know already, shotgun ammo tears up paper targets very quickly. What I do, is to go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a roll of those brown contractor paper and cut them into sizes I need for my targets. Heck a lot cheaper, and more sturdy, than the typical paper targets you can buy.

Do you also own a AR-15 rifle? If you do, don't throw away all the boxes that holds 25 rounds of birdshots. You can use them to hold 5.56mm/.223rem ammo loaded on stripper clips, useful for quick reloads of magazines at the range, especially if you have a StripLULA. Each box can hold 13 clips, or 130 rounds. Like this:

Jay, that's a 500 not 590. Add 65$ for my local FFL to transfer and also collect taxes on it. So it ends up being closer to 400. 335 for the 590 I bought transfered is a steal imho
